Default cluster acting up

MY gauge cluster has resently been acting up it will run fine and then while driving down the road it is like the car shuts off and then my warning lights will come on and then the needles go right back to were they where and it has been getting worse.............................any ideas im lost

i did replace the cluster i replaced it with a new one and it is doing the same thing and i cant afford to take it to the shop

Could be the plug connections on the harness side are corroded.

Also, was any electrical work done just before this started?

i had the same problem... my ecu was frying up. i replaced the ecu and it fixed the problem.

cant afford all that now!!!! im thinking about a bicycle speedo but i dont think that would pass inspection

Check EVERY one of you ground wires around the engine. I have had this same problem before and it was a bad engine ground to body. (almost drove me crazy for a WEEK). Also check batt cables pos and neg could have a break. Probably nothing wrong with cluster... Hope this helps.
