Default Clutch Problem on '97 Cabrio

On my way home the other day I was down shifting because I was coming to a light and when I took my foot off the clutch, the clutch stayed on the floor. I could manually pull it back into it's regular position but when i stepped on it again, I had the same problem. I just got a new clutch three weeks ago and the tow guy said it's probably my pressure plate. Any suggestions?

sounds like a clutch cable but i'm not sure that those use cables.

Take it back to the so called mechanic that did your clutch job and tell him / her that you want it made right now! You paid for it; now demand that you get your money's worth!

Could be the cable, pressure plate or grease seal etc... Does not matter; you paid for a repair, you didn't get it; now make them do it.
