Default coil pack for 98 VR6

I found it for $279 + Free Shipping.

Does anyone have any sites that it'll be cheaper?

I found it cheaper, for $206 +20 shipping, but its made by a company called BERU. Isn't the normal coil pack made by BOSCH on the VR6? Sorry to lazy to go downstairs and look at it now.

Heard good or bad from BERU brand?

Plus, how hard is it to replace it. Something an amateur can do or leave it to the professionals? I've changed a distributor off a Ford. What tools do I need?

Beru is fine.
Get a service manual if your unsure, but it is not hard to replace.

4 hexhead socket bolts. Use Allen wrench. Unplug wires, unplug 4 wire connector. Simple.

You have to take off the engine cover though to get to it easier.

Try this place as well:

They have had them as low as $189.

I am sure you can find them cheaper somewhere, maybe someone will chime in.

Figured looking at it that it was an allen wrench to take it off. Question, just wondering what tool I'll need to take the engine cover off. Atleast it sounds much simple than the damn Ford Escort I use to have.

Reason is check engine light came on and it said something about misfire on something 1. Which is the coil pack because you can actually start seeing white cracks around the 1st tower in the coil pack. Will the check engine light turn off after a day or two?

You dont need to buy a new one, mine broke this weekend so i looked around on the internet. you just get some 10 hr apoxy and put it all over to fix the cracks, it works perfect... i happened to have a spare from my blown engine so i didnt have to stay in for the night while it dried.
