Default Door handle problems...

Earlier today my friend tried to let himself out of my car, front passenger, and the handle had no resistance, and whats worse is the door didn't open. I tried the outside handle, same thing.

Anyone familiar with this problem?

Any Idea how to open the door without a can opener??

Any words of advice on removing the interior door panel while the door is closed???

i don't think you will be able to get the door panel off with the door closed.

If you can, pry it back just enough so you can grab the bars that control the latch. Other than that, you're pretty much fucked.

That about sums it up. It's really hard to get the door panel off with the door closed without destroying it. It's possible, just difficult. You'll probably break all the clips.

It doesn't sound like a handle issue, it sounds like it isn't coming unlocked.

Since the door latch/lock assembly is all enclosed in a unit you really can't get to without dismantling the door... and you can't remove it without opening the door... see the above quote.

Move the door lock pin up a down a few times, that's all the advice I have.

if you can het one of those drill hole bits break the lock out with a screw driver then drill the plastic door handel .staight though then you should be able to take your finger stick it in the hole and pull up on the piece of metal that will open the door . Hope your able to do it .I did it at the bone yard yesterday to see an it did so good luck . I just wanted to try it first before I posted it

I used 1 3/4 inch

Thanks for any and all advice...

The door opened today, so I'm thinking that it was so cold that the grease on the door latch assembly gummed up. Either way, I drenched it with pb blaster, and now it works like new.

Word of advice...take care of this before it happens to you.
