Default Electric window just goes click!

Hey-elp!

I've a got a MK3 Golf which has just developed a fault with it's drivers window. When I press the down button, i can hear something click in the door, and click again about a second later... much like it does if it's already down, and you press and hold down again. Click....Click!

I've got the trim off the door at the moment to see if any wire wiggling/plug cleaning will help... No luck.

The good news is, it has failed with the window up.... the bad news is it's up for sale this weekend!

Any clues would be greatly appreciated

Any idea if front and rear ones are interchangable?

It's been intermittent since I bought it... just as I put it up for sale, it decides to quit!
