any links to the product? if its for a 2.0 dont bother. only performance that a 2.0 will benifit from is cam and engine work, turbo, or supercharger. even those are really and will not worth it.

Turbo aba is totally worth it. I'd take 2.0 aba turbo over 1.8t any day. More displacement, stock forge internals, you can buy the car and a turbo kit for cheaper than a 100k mile 1.8t, and beat a stock or depending the kit you get even a tuned 1.8t.

did you guys miss the part about a REAL small budget? Get hot and heavy over turbos somewhere else. The chip is indeed worth it for the 2L, wicked gas mileage and a little extra power. Stick with neuspeed, techtonics or autotech though. They are cheap, only about $120.

NONO dont even bother, throw that idea away. That'll probably make your car not run. A real chip is an EPROM that goes right into your ECU. This is a real chip, the autotech q chip.

the ecu i believe on a mk3 is in the pocket under the rain tray on the passengers side.
least.. thats where my buddies is on his mk3 tdi with a shaved bay..

anyway.. when you get it out.. it looks like a mini computer..
theres 4 phillips screws i believe.. losen them.. the ecu opens..
inside you should see a big.. rectangular object.. 2.0's i believe have 2.. those would be your chips.. if they say oem vw on them.. theyre factory
if they say anything else on them..
c2motorsports..
revo
apr
unitronic
etc etc etc etc

its chipped

why do people honestly boast about turboing a mk3 2.0.. when the dude just is after a chip? .... makes no sense if he was interested in turboing his 2.0.. he would of said..

HOW MUCH MONEY IS IT TO TURBO MY 2.0?
.................................................
theres my daily rant.

I just want to throw in my two cents here... I bought the nuespeed chip. I love it. I noticed an immediate change in how it ran. Much better power.

Some of those chips say they require a high octane rating of gasoline... Is it nessary to use the high octane, or can I get away with the "cheap stuff." I am really looking to chip my 1994 jetta, but I do not want to pay the extra 20 cents per gallon.
