Default how to get the steering wheel off on a....

96 golf gl. i took the horn button finish panel off the wheel, and now i'm stumped. i don't see one frickin bolt/nut to undue. my wheel is making that gritty noise, and i'm trying to luber er' up.. thanx

If you look dead down the middle of the steering wheel you should see a large 22mm? nut.
