Default how to tell 1.8-2.0

i know this is a rookie question but i have to ask, whats the best way to tell a 1.8 from a 2.0,do all 2.0s have the cover that says 2.0?and is there any good mail order parts places for VW?

in america/canada they all say 2.0 on them yes. iirc the 1.8 is not acrossflow so i won't say it on the manifold.
