Default Intermittent stall at idle when hot

Hi,

I have a small issue with the engine. When the engine is hot and running for a while in traffic the idle stalls intermittently. The symptoms are as follows. When downshifting to stop at a light the idle drops right down to 0 and the engine stops. When I crank the engine up I must keep my foot on the gas pedal or else it will stall every time. The odd part is that sometime it stops doing it for a few lights and it stalls again.

When the engine is cold It can run on idle no problem.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Mike

I think the Idle Air control valve might be defective. Itís an intermittent issue. I also have rough idle from time to time when engine is hot.

Does anyone know how to test the Idle Air control valve? Does anyone have resistance information and the procedure to check it? Clean it maybe. Any info would help.

TY
Mike
