jetta vr6 wont start

i have a 95 mk3 jetta vr6. ive had it for about a year now and its just been a major headache. Im putting the 3rd motor in it now I bought the car and the oil pump was bad so i changed that and then it turned out it had a blown head gasket. So i bought another vr6 and paid a friend of mine to do the swap. He did a shitty job so i brought it to a shop to work out the kinks. Then it ran perfect with no problems. After about 6 months my brother ran it out of oil and it developed some sort of knock. i think it was the timing chain and then it wouldnt stay running above 2 grand so i called the junkyard and got another vr6 for free on warranty and decided id try the swap myself. I have the motor and tranny in and all plugged in but i have no spark. Thats why i came to this forum. my motor wont start. i have gas getting to it but it wont start and i tested for spark. idk why i don't have spark and i need help or suggestions to troubleshoot.

I would suggest checking out the impulse sender (engine speed sensor) . it regulates fuel and ignition

Is the motor cracking over,?

Are you sure the motor matches your ECM? Outside of that, it is more than likely a electrical connection issue.
