Look up local Porsche swap meets . Buy a low priced set of which ever later year Porsche wheels in 16x7 with the deeper offset . get an adapter kit and run 195 or 185 45 tires I personally had 8 in the back a 7 in the front . Loved it .
Prices range from 150 to 1000 depending on year and condition
i like 16's on mk3's.
porsche d90's seem to be the mk3 wheel of choice. they are cheap to pick up and are semi wide. everything has been done so just run what you like. you could run salad shooters. how do you want the car to sit? low, stock, cupkit low, rocker panel low? you could always swap to mk3 vr hubs to get 5x100.
I dont think schmidt rims are nice at all, they are too expensive for their own good. And everybody and their dog has had the borbet type A's on their car.
Although this is my idea I doubt I will ever be able to afford rims lol. Look for black rims with red trim. If you have a black jetta. They would look pretty sick I think. Enough red trim for when your driving you see the red flashing from when the tired are spinning.
