Default ''timing''

how long has it been like this have you had the timing belt done recently or the water pump ?
i had the same issues with my agg 8v golf gti
the problem was the timing was out even tho it ran perfectly well upto 5k limmiter

30% power redution 30% fuel increase consumption
before you try anything have the timing checked and double checked by a qualified vw mech as alot of other mechs dont really know the sweet spots for timing the mk3 golf up ill get you a link i was given on here 3 or 4 months ago i follwed it to exactly and never looked back scince
regards craig
