Default mk3 Glx Vr6 - CHIPS

Well, I dont know anything about chips, but I heard from a close friend who does nothing but cars, I asked him about chips and he told me they dont do anything, and big chance of harming my computer, (im not saying he right) But i would like other ppls opinions on it.

So Anyone who knows something about chips, Please just explain your thoughts on chips, the goods and bads about chips, easy to install? Worth the cash?

alot of people run chips. as long as you buy properly made ones it can only help. better performance, better gas mileage. whats not to like? and they're usually a snap to install on mk3's.

for companies i would recommend GIAC (personal favorite), neuspeed, techtonics or autotech.
