Default need some help

sat morning car wont start and continues to just crank over and over. i figure its the same issue ive been running into when the car sits outside after it rains or is very humid out. so after a frustrating morning of getting the car home i notice ignition coil and wire running to dist cap are semi scorched. so i go out and buy a new ignition coil and wire hook it all up and car still wont start. any one have any ideas to help me out? thanks alot chris.

Well, when my coil was causing the same things, it cooked itself, coil wire, most of the spark plug wires, distributor cap and the rotor. 200 dollars worth of stuff.

I'd pull the distro cap and inspect it and the rotor tip. As far as checking the wires, you could check the resistance of them while you flex them to see if it matches the factory resistance.

well still messing with the car, anyone have some more suggestions on what else i could check. i'm getting plenty of fuel pressure to the fuel line running to the fuel filter which i also replaced so i guess that takes away the possibility of the pump bein shot.

it doesn't seem like its something to do with the wires because chances are all 4 wires wouldn't have gone at the same time so it seems like it might be something else what i would do for now is get a spark testers and see if the cylinders are firing. but it still to me seems like its gotta be something further back before the wires. but it would still be worth checking them with a spark tester.

I still think it could be the distro cap and/or rotor.
