whats up everyone i'm new here and just bought a white 98 jetta vr6 with 138xxx miles, i will post pics of it later. very clean car and fun to drive. few newbie ?'s the abs light is on the car but the guy that i got it from just did the brakes which he gave all the records of the services and he did from when he bought it 98 new, just wondering what sensors to check first, also being the car was 138xxx should i changed the timing chain or just tensioners. and last the most common problem i hear from this cars in the windows which the rear passenger goes down but not up seems of track what should i just buy. thanks in advance.

u need a regulator for the window.

I agree, the window regulators are a VERY common issue with the MKIII's. I found my MKIII the most fun car I've ever worked on. But like any car, it is only as good as the person who maintains her.
