Possible Clutch Issue

My buddy decided it would be a good idea to try to do a massive burnout by driving his car up to a wall and hammering down. It did smoke the tires a little but then it stopped moving. I laughed as i smelt the nice smell of a burnt up clutch. But to my surprise all the gear oil leaked out from the tranny. The car is a 97 jetta GT, 5 speed manual. Car has 155k on it and to his knowledge never had the clutch replaced. The cable is still good, fork moves, will go in "gear" but let clutch out and give gas and she won't move. Any ideas if it really is the clutch or why the gear oil would all leak out?

well if the clutch goes in and when you put the trans into gear the car does not die, you may have fucked up the trans, definitely the clutch, if it does die you just fucked up the clutch either way you are going to have to take it apart and have a gander.

Have pulled the trans and we found a nice big hole in the inside part of the bell housing. And when shaken broken gears and be hear moving around. SO time to find a new one.
