Default Program Keyless Entry

I just bought a new key fob for my MK3 Jetta. I have 2 keys and old Keyless remote. Problem is I don't know how to program the new one. Does anyone know how this is done?

Might not be called a keyfob.....it's the remote entry that goes on the keyring......locks/unlocks the doors, opens the doors, sets off the panic button......I got a new one b/c the buttons wore off of the old one......now I gotta program it....I know it takes 2 keys, but I don't know the procedure.....please help.

Try this

1. Put your spare key into the ignition and put it onto the ON position, DONT

start the car

2. Close your door. In the drivers side, turn the key to the left (unlock

position) and hold it.

3. It will beep 3 times. Let go to the key so it sits in the lock.

4. With each of your new remotes, separately, press the unlock button, each

button will cause a "HONK"

5. Turn the key to the left again until it beeps.

6. PROGRAMMED!

the banjo remote?

odds are its not the remote that doesn't work, its something on the car itself. my WOB has this same problem, i jsut use the popper in the console. does that work?
