A single Stripped Allen screw stopped me on my tracks!
as simple as that, i feel so ashamed, but i dont know what to do, ive tried so many things, but i need to get this thing out, does the community have any tips, ive tried the ez out thing, but id doenst work, i know this is dumb but, i jut hate allen screws, and vw has a lot of them, any advise would be greatly appreciated.
How about vice grips around the outside of the bolt?
Also, before you remove any more, make sure to use a pick to clean out the dirt inside the Allen head, then hit them with compressed air to be sure all dirt is removed and the Allen key sits deep into the bolt head.
i tried the vise grip, but it slips :/ they are tight, really tight, i dont get it, its too tight, i went to the junk yard to get a new set, witch i did, cuz the stripped ones wont work any more, and those came out really easy, its just my car, one of them came out, but the other to, they refuse to give up, i might have to try a trox bit...
get a blowtorch and heat it up. the two different metals are different alloys and they will expand at different rates. It can sometimes cause it to break free. youll still need vice grips though. and make sure you have a good pair. the crappy kind slip all the time.
i suck at this, trying to change that pulley, i messed up the water pump, now i need a new water pump, they are relatively cheap, but the labor is quite expensive, any tips, how to's or any help you guyz could give me?
hey!!! you can also use this if you can find one,i use it at work. you need to drill[with the same size] in the center of the bolt and twist it in and unscrew it.
