Default timing is going on my vr

i need a new timing kit for a 12v vr6, but i dont just want the normal one.i want one with the steel guides, and not the plastic.my room mate had a 93 corrado slc vr6 with the distributer and he found one with the steel guides.do you think it would work on my coil packed 98 vr6.the reason i ask is because the sprockets on the end of the cam shafts on the older vrs are double sprockets, and im not suer if my sprockets are double.if they are not double is it possible to put the double sprockets on my newer vr6.some one please help.my timing kit sounds like there are marbles jumpin around.i know that cant be good.

the sprockets are double, if you can find one with steel guides i'd say go for it.
