Its a 98 jetta with the 2.0
What are these tubes called? They split at the ends so I zip tied them, Im leaving on a trip and want to replace them but dont know what they are called. where would be the best place to get replacements? and I know its a long shot but would anyone have part#'s for this? ![]() ![]() ![]() Thanks in advance for any help! |

i would say it was the brake servo vacuum pipe, (these come complete with the valve in the middle) as they are just plastic & joints cannot be re-sealed successfully,
so its either a trip to the dealer (for a new one) or a trip to the breakers yard for a second hand replacement, hope this helps

The larger tube without the valve is a vacuum line to your brake booster unit. The smaller tube is a return line and the valve in it is a backfire preventer.
Be sure to replace both before going on your trip. Lost of vacuum will adversily affect your braking capability. |

Post what the dealer charged you for the parts if you get a minute.
I got a split tube in the rightmost circled spot in the top picture and fixed it with a piece of coolant hose similar to how that tube is attached to the plenum on the other end. |
