I'm glad that I looked at this thread. It gives me hope for my GTI, just like yours I have shifter issues, hacked up MAF wiring, shifter issues, HORRIBLE CRAP WORK DONE BY THE PO! lol, over all mine is in the same condition that yours started as. Great work, and thanks for the hope that I might be able to make mine a respectable car once more.

I hate every minute of it, but it feels pretty good when you get it all taken car of and you can enjoy it.

bumper grilles will probably come after winter..I see you can get a set on Ebay for like $27, I wonder how bad fitment is..

Ok i cant help but comment, but thats "cosmic green." "Rave green" is the lighter green color. I had the same car and it was labeled cosmic green.

buy the 3m headlight lens restore kit, works wonders on plastic headlights. 20 bucks, and you hav enough 3m liquid left over to do it again.

yep. I've since learned that. I think 99.5-00 or something was Cosmic then after 01 or 02 was Rave

I've use it already, the lenses are shot from the inside out.. I'd rather just get the glass covers and be done with it
