Airbag Light

So, I've had this airbag light for forever now, and I've been trying to fix it with no success. The code is 00591 - Seat belt resistance too high (Driver). I took the seat out today to make sure everything was connected, and everything seemed to be in order. I can't get any other reading out of VCDS other than "Too High" when performing measuring blocks (group 3). I'm looking to FIX this, not rig it up with a resistor. Can someone give me some direction where to go now?

Even if you fix the problem, the air bag light will NOT shut itself off unless you use a diagnostic tool with the capability to reset it. That is how VW has set the system up.

It's not like a check engine light, which will eventually shut itself off after replacing the faulty component.

I have the capability of deleting the airbag light myself, thanks to VCDS and a cable.

Does the passenger side have the same connector? If so, what is the resistance reading across the terminals with the seat belt connected, and what is the resistance with the seat belt buckle disconnected?

How does this compare to the driver side?

If the passenger side does not have a connector, do you see a difference in the resistance on the driver side with the buckle connected vs being disconnected.?
