I know alot of people who like Castrol, but they don't drive VWs.

And a quick question. How much better is a K&N filter than a Fram?

I use Mobil-1 5W-30 but Castrol Syntec is just as good. Fram filters were manufactured by Satan...never use them

I just put GC 0w30 in my 1.8t with a mobile 1 filter and I can feel the difference. Not to hate on Mobile 1 oil but Castrol is holding it down.

Default Motor Oil 505 01

My 01' 1.8T uses the 505-01 Synthetic Oil recomended by the Manufacturer.
But I have read this Technical Service Bulletin

http://www.audiusa.com/etc/medialib/....0023.File.pdf

As I don't know if anybody has posted this site or not. It is the Audi Oil Quality Standards (Audi is the Man. of VW) Revised April 16, 2009.
Please take a look at this and find the Oil Manufacturer that you prefer and it will list the oil that you can use. I can order the 505-01 but it will cast about $25 per quart. I use Mobil 1 Full Synthetic 0w40. It is great, and only about $7 per quart. Please let me know what you think. Thanks!!
