Default catalytic converter recall

We have a 2002 Golf 2.0 L . Catalytic converter has gone bad..P0420 code.. The EPA has a recall on cats because they are defective. I need info to verify. VW dealer giving me the run around.....Please Help!!

idk of any cat recall? i know coil packs on 1.8ts and sunroof drains.. thats all im aware of.

2.0 has an extended converter warranty stemming 10 years, 100,000 miles.
