Default Couple questions about boost

I just installed a boost gauge and I wasn't sure what vacuum line to tap off of... I tapped off the fuel pressure regulator to manifold..

A friend of mine told me that wasn't the best thing i could have done because i would lose a little fuel, because of losing the vacuum to the gauge.. Is this true? If so where should I tap off of?

Another question is what am I suppose to be running for boost stock on my 01 jetta? I'm topping off at just under 5 pounds... like 4.7 psi.. Is that normal or does my blown K03 have something to do with it?

Thanks,
Ant

i don't think it matters which vacuum line you go through. as far as the boost is concerned, that doesn't sound right to me

just put a boost gauge in my 2000. my readings peak at about 9 and vac peaks at around 22inhg. double check your vacum tubing line you ran from your FPR cause you could have a leak. especially check around your t valve and your gauge intput. and you are completly fine tapping into your FPR.

Usually the FPR is a good spot to tee off of - there's almost no actual movement in the lines so it will not affect fuel pressure.

You should be either running at ~11 PSI or ~9 PSI depending on the year of your car, I tapped into the FPR line and am running 11.7 PSI with no mods other than intake and exhaust. If you have a blown turbo than that's probably your problem. I'd get that fixed or replaced if I were you.
