I had the right axle replace in my 2000 2.0L 5spd. It took them a little while to get it done, because something was "weird" when they were removing the axle. Now it vibrates badly at 3800-4000 RPM in every gear. I took it back, they changed the axle again and the wheel bearing without a fix. They told me it's the transmission and there's nothing they can do about it. My question is...can you damage the transmission when removing the axle?

umm no.. unless you hammer away at it or something.. The only time you touch the trany is when you unbolt the axel from it, and when you bolt the new axel back in.
They must of told you, you need an alignment baaad after an axel swap. That could cause the shaking..? |
