So a while back i was driving pretty fast. And my speedometer went to 0 and stayed there. My odometer also wont track miles and engine light appeared. I took it to my mechanic who pulled codes. He said that the computer systems in my car where not communicating or something. Any help on what wires could of caused this? He replaced the sensors to no luck. My dad also took it to a tranny shop who said we stripped some gear and needed to rebuild our tranny but i dont trust them. They want my money. Checking with you guys first. Also my cruise control dosent work either. Thanks for the help in advance
Is there anyway i can fix the k-line to 12+ wiring. I had a shop install it with a lifetime warranty on the hookup. Can it be fixed? And still would appreciate a link to the part for vss on tranny and a diy thanks!
Thanks guys! I have already read that page as of this morning :P but thanks anyways. I'm going to print it out and bring it to the car audio shop that installed my radio for me. They should just remove the k-line pin. They have a lifetime warranty on there wiring so they should fix it for free. Unless someone can show me a easy diy for removing a double din kenwood touchscreen head unit. Just I don't want to mess with the warranty. Soon as I touch it the warranty goes away. Also after this happens ill get codes pulled for speedometer/odometer/cruise control being broken and let you guys know what they are!
sounds almost like you broke the plastic gear that hooks into the inputshaft speed sensor or vehicle speed sensor thats inside the transmission. in which case yes you would have to split your tranny case to replace this part so a rebuild might be in your future.
