Hi guys, any help is appreciated.
I'm driving a 2000 Jetta 1.8T, with about 98K miles on it. The engine seems to "stutter" (like its losing power), when I'm pressing the gas pedal, around 2000-2600 rpms. Above and below that, it seems fine. This is only when I give it gas, if I'm remembering correctly. The check engine light is on. Any idea what this might be? I do plan on taking it to get it checked out but am wondering what it might be/how much it'll cost me. Thanks. |

Take your car to autozone and tell them you need it scanned, they can tell you why your check engine light is on...any garage or dealership can as well but they will charge you...my guess would be a coil.

Well, got it checked out at the dealer. They said:
Plugs are bad. Coils are bad. Fuel filter is clogged. Air filter is clogged. Vacuum hose is broken. I understand the plugs and filters part. If anyone can tell me what the coils and vacuum hose do that'd be awesome. All told the it's gonna cost me $680. (Guess I should've checked and done the plugs myself. Saved myself a little money at least...) |
