Default Engine Warning Light, 2.0 GTi Mk4

The engine warning light in my 2.0 GTi Mk4 stays on with the key in the second position where as the other lights (oil, ABS etc) only stay on momentarily, then go out.

The engine warning light does however go out when I start the engine.

Is this normal, or could there be a problem?

Many Thanks

It means wait until your fuel reaches it's max psi before combustion and then turn the key over until it starts and release. Repeat as necessary. LOL!
Seriously though, autozone will check any computer codes, free of charge.
