Default Help needed

Hi all newb to golfs I'm having an issue I hope someone can help me with

When I start the car it idles fine but as soon as I try lift the revs the engine cuts out :s

It's a 99 1.4 16 v

Any help would be appriceated

How many miles on the car? When was the last time you changed the fuel and air filter?

Sounds like the MAF or vac leak

Check the air intake hose for any rips or tears. Make sure it's seated properly.
