Default I have a question about applying rear badges...

I have a question about applying rear badges. I bought the car used, it's a '02 GTI 1.8T and im missing the 1.8T badge on the trunk. My question is, Does anyone know a good way to line up the placement the new badge (1.8T badge on the right side) with the "GTI" badge on the left side? Not sure how they line em up so they are exactly where the the OEM would have been. Any measurements any one has would be much appreciated (like distance from right side of trunk). Thanks for all the help in advance!

I used a piece of string, and a flex ruler.
Measured in from the side, then up from the bumper and mimicked the measurments on the other side (marking it with a wax pencil). Then stretched teh piece of string across from the farthest most edge of the opposite badge, and stuck the 1.8T badge within the measurments along the string.
Not the most scientific, and lining it up by site would probably have worked just as well, but it came out perfect (to me anyway).
