Forge or Tyrol side mount are the best but honestly you don't even need it, there a thousands of bolt ons you can do that will yield much better results.

Basically the loss of power comes from adding a bunch of piping and reducing air pressure in the charge system because it has to go all the way from the left to the right and then back up instead of through the side mount and then right into the intake manifold...think of it in terms of water...it takes much longer for it to flow through the system if you add twice the piping to it.

Your stock turbo is not big enough and does not run hot enough to warrant any bigger of an intercooler and any gains shown on websites are purely for marketing purposes.

suspension, swaybars, upgraded motor mounts, new silicon piping kit, new DV, bigger downpipe, LSD (have to get that power to the ground). if i had a $1000 to spend it would not be on an intercooler. you could always get the fender liner from an audi with the vent for the side mount intercoooler.

I agree, as i said, not going to tell you you shouldn't get one, but i would not spend the money until you are planning on going BT.

1. If you do not have a down pipe and only a catback you should first buy a downpipe.

2. After that get a set of coilovers.

3. if you do not want to go that low (GLI bodykit will limit low on your car) scoop up a nice cup kit.

Poof, 1k gone.

Downpipe

Rear sway bar

Coilovers

In that order the money you spend on a rear sway bar and downpipe determines what you'll have to spend on suspension...you dont HAVE to do coilovers.

def get at downpipe. if your planning on going BT get a 3in downpipe but if your keeping the stock ko3 then go 2.5in downpipe. GHL i personally recommend cuz i love the growl it gives you but there are tons of exhaust companys out there so just search through threads and find whats best for you.

then i would buy a DV. bailey dv are solid and sound unique but again search through threads and find what u want.

the next purchase i would go about is an H&R rear sway bar. followed by their cup kit.
if you want coilovers and a euro stance def go for it but factor in ride height and ride comfort. just figure out whats best for you. if your commuting 100 miles a day you might not want to get stiff coilovers with a ultra low right hight killing your bumb everyday going to and from work....
