Default lights out

in my 2003 gti my heater controls are fully out from the hoit or cold, to the fan speed, as well as defrost, floor etc. i checked and everythings plugged in but wtf else could i do?

There is a single bulb behind the controls that light it up.

Set your fan dial to the "2" setting and pull it straight out.

You'll see a bulb behind there. CAREFULLY pull it out with a set of needle nose pliers. I used needle nose pliers and an elastic band for grip.

Take said bulb to an auto parts store or a VW dealer if you can't find it elsewhere. They charged me $3 for it at my dealer.

Repeat steps in reverse and you'll have light again.

appreciate it, if u hadnt told me that i wouldve ended up spending like 100 bucks at the dealer to get that shit fixed

Glad I could help.

Alot of people I've talked before have done mass disassembly of their dash to get to the bulb not knowing they can pull that knob off.
