Default Lightweight Flywheels

On a 12V VR6 what would be the suggested weight for a lighter flywheel? I've heard that 6lbs. is too light and should be only used for the track. My car is my daily driver, so I don;t want anything to ridiculous.

I had a 12 lb flywheel in my GTI VR6 with the stock clutch and it did make it slightly less user friendly, but still daily driver material, and it was great...I loved it.

If you go too light with your flywheel you will experience what is known as "flywheel migration". This is when the flywheel migrates to a location other than where it should be e.g. through the floorboards and your leg.

i have a 7 pound flywheel in my 1.8t and i absolutley love it. it took some getting use to but now it seems like stock was with how easy it is to use and everything like that. I wouldn't see a problem with going to light the only problem is you can get flywheel catter but i only hear it late at night sitting at a light and its barely noticable

i got a B&M stage 1 racing clutch with a B&M lightweight flywheel (i think its 8lbs) and i noticed a diff especially when i rev it how quick the rpms drop back down along with a B&M short shifter (DAMN im B&M'd out!!) makes for a good combination
