Could he go get a computer from a 03+ mk4 and install it so he will safly run at the 03+ mk4 boost level atleast?

boost controllers r typically used for mitsu's, hondas, etc etc. its the cheap way of doing a chip to gain boost. where the only thing that matters is what you boost, and hey who cares if i run the risk of blowing my turbo or heads?

your much better off saving your coin for a chip. =) good move on removing it =)

No, complete waste of time seeing as how a chip costs less than a newer ECU

i was thinking more of the lines of getting a junk yard one.

Then you have to find the nearest VW dealer and pay through the nose to get the ECU matched up with that VIN so the immobilizer doesn't stop you from using your car.
