jettaboy: i work at a machine shop im in the lab my official title is metrologest technician. basically what i do is inspect parts after they get machined and deburred. i check them for flatness in microns (micron = .001 mm) and for surface finish in microns.
and its not like a car machine shop we make parts for cars like roller bearings and various other parts our biggest contract is with a company called autocam which makes parts for cat (construction equipment). we also make piston rings for nascar engines.
i went to school for mechanics at universal technical institute and graduated with certifications in automotive and deisel. also while i was in school i obtained 6 ase (automotive service exellence) certifications. i need 3 more ase's to be master certified in the automotive feild.
and to top all that off i worked at a volkswagen dealer for 6 months before i got a dui and i quit b4 they found out n fired me.
so yea doin this build isnt too hard for me but it is very time consuming for the actual building of the motor ill prob send it out so i get some sort of warranty on it if anything were to go wrong with the engine.
Fukin: yea i was planning on doin diy's as i go along with the build so far on my list is the pcv delete diy, N249 delete diy, SAI delete diy, FPR diy, headliner , door card, and pillars diy, and for all the noobs out there ill do a quick DV diy.
ill prob also do a fmic diy when i get it ordered and installed.
Everyone else: FIND ME A AEB HEAD i need one badly considering the stock awp head has tiny little runners... i plan on redoing the whole valve train and cams too.
Thank you all of u who are following this thread it gives me alot of inspiration when i get stuck on something or gettin to the tough parts of the build.
