You have soom good choices for power .Either you can get a stage 1turbo kit from EIP tuning or a super charger kit from neuspeed. Neuspeed has a stage 1 and stage2 (wich is just a smaller pully). Whith the EIP unit there is more room for power.
Look into getiing a set of lower bushings for the dogbone mount. This mount with new bushings made from polyurithane can make a world of diferance in handling of all aspects.http://www.eiptuning.com/
http://www.neuspeed.com/
Also suspention getting cup kit is good for starters

what about intake, exhaust, etc.??? im lookin for something that will give me a deep sound, what about the catback magnaflows??? i heard one on a VR6, obviously my car wont sound like that with that exhaust on it but yea im looking for something with a deep tone...i was looking up performance chips and i forget where i saw this but i found one where it told me if i use a catback magnaflow exhaust with k&n filter, this one chip will give me 100 horepower and 209 ft.-lbs of torque or sumthin like that

Id like to see the place where you saw that

I have a Tectonics exhaust on my car and it sounds pretty nice, not to loud but it has a pretty deep tone to it, works for me, but I have a MKIII I dont know if there is a difference.

There are better options out there than the Neuspeed supercharger, IMO.
The VF Supercharger kit, I've heard its good, but I dont know much about this kit.
http://www.vf-engineering.com/vw_mk3gti.htm
I think Dakoda knows a couple bits about the VF kit, he'll chime in.

For a chip, check out Autotech. Not sure about the performance, but I've seen it mentioned on here a couple times before. Worth it to check it out.
http://www.autotech.com/catalog/qchip.htm
Neuspeed also makes a chip for your ECU, Some people have their opinions about neuspeed though so, im not too sure. But hey, It's your car

Here are a couple links to check out for exhausts and for other stuff you might want.
http://www.rpi-equipped.com/
http://www.rapidparts.com/ <---Very nice site.
http://www.performance-cafe.com/ <----Also one of my favorites.
http://www.parts4vws.com/ <----Hear they are very reliable.
http://bluefox280.tripod.com/id11.html <---This site contains TONS of parts links.

There ya go, thats plenty of a start

if you found a chip that supposidly gives that much hp increase for a 2.0, its prolly some bullshit chip. stick with reputable company's for chips. i personally have a autotech chip for my 2.0 liter but theres techtonics, giac, and others

He might have gotten it confused with a 2.0 TDI chip. That to me makes more sense

The NS kit, while not providing the bigger number provides more usuable power in the low end. I wouldn't immediately dismiss it.

Tomy boy has a good point .
Plus if you look the reason why I did not sugest these kits is that they are not availible for the 99.5 to 2004 models

Im not doubting that, I just think that there are also other good if not better chargers, but you are correct abou the low end numbers, got me.

i have the neuspeed kit...if your looking for some reliable power and a car thats more fun to drive(not a track beast) and something you can install your self its a good choice....
if you go that route the charger includes a reflashing of your ecu("chip upgrade") and i would suggest doing a new cam thats more SC friendly like a Techtonics 268/260 or a neuspeed or schrick(theres rumours that neuspeed uses shrick and its cheaper) 260 and also get the smaller pulley, dont worry about an intake it comes with a modified airbox piece just get a nice k and n drop in filter for it...to do all of that your looking at about 3000 add 500 for a nice cat back and your looking at about 150-160 wheel hoarse power with a very usable low end....basically the power of a 1.8t (with a much better curve and no lag) or a vr6 with some bolt ons.....

now if your looking to build a very fast car and have that great of a budget you could either do a 2.0 turbo ( but yuo should build the internals also) or i would suggest doing a 1.8t or 24v vr6 swap and do a turbo upgrade while you have the motor out...if you are interested in thsi i can send you a link to a guy who sells motors and 6 speed packages for about 4000 and to get it put in probably like 1500 if you dont want to do that...so your still looking at 4500 dollars to do a serious upgrade to it....

so basically yuo have alot of options if you let me know what your leaning towards i can give you some good links to read up on

( o yeah and if you do the neuspeed kit you will have like 6000 dollars left to donate to my interior)

It's a dream. Cayback exhaust, intake, and chip will give you maybe 15 HP extra. Even on a 1.8T with those three things you won't see more than about 50 HP. Magnaflow makes a pretty nice exhaust system. I would personally go with Techtonics Tuning, I really like their products, and if you get it with the Borla muffler it will sound nice, that's what I have (on my VR6). Don't bother with a whole intake, just get the K&N panel filter, it will give you the same gains. If you haven't done your suspension yet, I would suggest getting shocks and springs, or a nice cup kit. After that, I would say it's time for the turbo or supercharger kit. Not sure how much the turbo kit is, but if you went with the supercharer and all the other mods I said, before installation you're probably talking $5000. That still leaves you half of your money to play with, so you could do coilovers and then add a strut bar and rear swar bar maybe, and there's a whole bunch more things you could do. Good luck!

like i said it comes down to waht you want from the car...if you want reliable supercharger....if you wnat something your going to have to play around with and has the chance of serious problems but gives your more power and tuning options then do the turbo
