Im new to this site, So not sure if im suppose to be writing on this thread or making a new one? My name is kobe, I just purchase a 1999 VR6 it is a great car i love it. their are no issues with the car but its throwing an OBDII code P1340 (NO DTC Defined) See service manual. Is anyone Familiar with this code? I know it has to do with the cam shaft sensor but doesn't seem like my timing is off or anything? anyone have an idea what to check for?

The brakes got here yesterday and they look great, drilled and slotted rotors and ceramic pads on all 4 corners. Pics coming this week when I get to install it
Also ordered a mk3 lower intake manifold, I am planning on fabricating a short runner intake manifold using this piece, some aluminum plates and a 3" pipe
And to finish it up I got a great deal on a stage 2 bfi transmission mount, now just need the passenger side mount and dog bone inserts
So the clutch decided to give up this morning. I knew it was bad since the first time I drove the car but I thought I could squeeze a couple more months out of it before replacing
This came completely out of time as I am very busy with work and was not looking for the extra expense. I was actually thinking about buying a nice clutch when time comes but I just cant drop 500 bucks on a clutch right now
So I was looking for a stock replacement for now and came across this very inexpensive clutch kit from gripforce/f1 racing. I searched a bit for reviews and surprisingly found many good reviews from people using their clutch on vw's and other cars also. For less $ than a stock clutch I couldnt help but give it a shot, its a 6 puck copper/ceramic disc with a sachs pressure plate and rated at 380hp and I think 350 lbs torque, we will see how it holds when the time comes
Finally had some time to work on the car and while I was at it I realized how nice my blue one is compared to the vr6. This vr6 has been neglected in every way, oil leaks everywhere, missing bolts on bell housing, missing bolts on the flywheel and so on, it looks like a 6 year old put it together
I did get the new clutch installed and adjusted the shiter cable so now we have 5th gear again I also installed the brakes on all four corners today, it looks great
The clutch feels good, stock pedal feel and engagement. The only time I can tell its there is when taking off in 1st at low throttle and in reverse, thats when I feel some chatter but otherwise it has been great
Had her on the lift last week and found that both tie rods are shot so I went ahead and ordered two new replacements. They got here yesterday and looks great, I will try to get them in today
And this is what I need to make whenever I have some free time to play with the welder
Still can't believe that fell in your lap man it's so clean!
My buddy swears up and down against drilled rotors. He does quarter mile, lots of breaking at 130+ mph. I don't think there's any issues in it for a daily driver car.

I cant start modding the vr6 until I get rid of it but on the other hand I started having seconds thoughts about selling the 2.0, after all I am the second owner and have had the car for most of its life.
Best way to describe is, if you ever saw this commercial of the old lady selling a mk3, I feel just like that old lady LOL specially that part where she jumps it rally style we've done it all
