Default Out of Curiosity..

I was looking over a folder of recipts I got when I purchased my car and I came across one, that says "Vehicle towed in, clutch will not disengage" So they ended up replacing the clutch/flywheel at 28k miles. I'm just curious as to why the clutch would've gone out so soon on a bone stock car?
(car's a 6sp GLI)

Probably wasn't the clutch "going out" That's when it will no longer hold friction on the flywheel. Pressure plate could have gotten stuck or something.

Previous owner could have burned it up.

I would say the previous owner couldn't drive stick.

If you don't know how to drive stick, don't buy a brand new STICK car.

Whoever owned it burnt it out.

I bought mine at 56k and replaced the clutch at 57k due to throw out bearing detonating in the assembly. Previous owner must have driven even worse than my cars prior owner did..

most likely clutch failed due to new driver.. or someone just not caring and doing launches / burnouts non stop

either way.. i wouldnt sweat it.
