Default Tail light help please

I've got a mk4 golf 1.9tdi my tail light blew and I replaced it but it still won't work. Does it have a separate fuse depending on what side it's on??? I've tested the circuit and the is little to no power coming through. Please help I've had enough of lights as I've upgraded all my bulbs in my head lights.

Should be a fuse in the driver side panel between the door.. Just pull all your light fuses and check for a blown one, replace.

Brake or running light in tail? Could be brake switch if you have not completed the recall on it.

Could be a bad bulb tray, I was blowing bulbs weekly and i bought a new tray from the dealer and have not blown one since. Maybe swap the trays from one side to the other and see if it follows the tray? I have a weaker light output on my passenger side, never dug into it though so let me know what yo ufind out please.

When i get home i can look at the wiring on that tailight/ground specifically and see how it is wired. it may be something as simple as tightening a ground.

Make sure your using the correct bulb.

They look like standard bulbs, but the proper bulb has the little teets offset from each other.
