How many miles are on the car? Could be the water pump on it's way out. Does it overheat while driving, at idle, just when you're on it, etc.? Give some more details on when it does it.

if ur goin to hav a shop flush it i wanna steer you away from that since u say its nasty wat i would do is dispose of the nasty coolant in your car and flush it out like 2 times with water let it run for like 10-15 min at 2k should flush most the crap out. then go buy yourself some g12 coolant from the dealer fill it up 50/50 mix bleed out any air in the system and ur all set .

g12 and regular coolant (ethlene glycol) do not mix very well and when they are mixed form a nasty brownish sludge that you are probably gettin in your overflow tank.
