How many miles?

Things to be concerned about:
-coilpacks
-waterpump
-fan control module (seldom happens VW made the wires to the harness extremely short so sometimes they pull out of the module itself)
-power windows breaking (seldom happens)
-Heated seats overheating (warranty recall)
-Center armrest button breaking
-Glovebox hinge breaking

That's all I can think of off the top of my head.

The 1.8T motor is a lot of fun, hope you enjoy yours like I enjoy mine

new gti

it has 92,000 miles on it. pretty high but it runs good! The armrest button is already broken, and there is a airbag light on, on the dash. it came on after the test drive, after i bought it. Thought i'd swing by Volkswagon and see what they say.

When was the last time your timing belt was done? It should be done every 60k-80k miles, so if it hasnt been done yet do it as soon as you can. 1.8T's are interference motors which means a bad timing belt can bend your valves or even worse. If you do get it done, replace the water impeller with a water one. Your G12 coolant eats away at the plastic ones (which is why they fail so much in the first place)
