Default too much oil

Hey guys i put too much oil when i changed my oil and the car is like running funny kinda theres like a delay in first gear then it kicks it but drives and starts normaly is that cuz theres too much oil? thanks, its a 99 jetta auto 2l oh yeah i put 4.4l in the car of oil lol

4.4 sounds about right...what is the dipstick at for level? Excess oil can cause damage to the catalytic converter.

i was over by three quarts or so.. the car lagged really bad, the oil light came on, a shit load of oil came out of my intake, and it started ticking really loud. i thank the auto god i didnt blow my valve seals

How do you add an extra 3 qts of oil? I mean, I can see an extra like half quart or something, cause when I change my oil, I get about half a quart at the bottom of a 5 quart jug, I try and save it, but its hard to judge when you start using little extra from the bottom of every container.

As Cody said, drain it and refill it. Make sure you drain into a clean pan.

My car takes 6 qrts. Real easy, 5 qrt jug + 1 qrt. Never overfill.

so i drained about 1k out of it i didnt drain the whole thing lol i just took some out and then my engine light came on i went it to check it out and it said running too rich... but the car on first gear at about 1500 rpms it like loses power kinda and at 2500 its like a rush and the car just takes out like crazy
