Default vr6 maf on 1.8t

I have heard people on sites talk about putting a vr6 maf on a 1.8t and getting better airflow (more pull). Is this upgrade beneficial or is it not really worth it? Has anyone done this and can comment?

Not worth it unless you get a tune that requires the MAF sensor or it's going to do you no favors. The only time people use a bigger MAF (VR6, Audi TT 225) is for bigger turbo setups.

Doesn't the Audi TT 225 have a ko3? If so, why would that maf be used for bigger turbos?
