nope. Save a little, and scrounge up some money for a better turbo.. I've been looking into the K04 as well and it's not worth it. The best numbers you'll see is 220-245 area.. Which isn't that much... Or it could be, depends on what your into, but I would suggest scrounging up some money for the GT28rs..

A k04 isn't a good upgrade from a stock K03. It's not much difference.. If your turboing a non turbo car, meh.. not a bad idea. But K03 to K04. Not so much. A positive about the K04 is at has a good low end power range, but no top end. That's where the Gt28rs comes in... Takes longer to spool, but when boost hits, you'll be movin'.

The gt28rs doesn't bolt up to the 1.8t directly though... You'll need to swap out your exhaust manifold and downpipe to fit it.. You can pick up a gt28rs for like $1300. OR, you can get the eliminator kit! Which bolts strait up to your stock downpipe and mani!!
Tranverse GTRS Eliminator

With the Gt28rs and tuning you'll see numbers like 290.. 300... Depending on mods.. Ofcoarse you'll need supporting mods with that much power! Bigger down pipe, free flowing exhaust, injectors, fmic, upgraded diverter valve, a new clutch to hold the power, and a good set of tires to grip the road.

That's what I'm runnin right now, gettin ready to drop the eliminator in..

Anyways, what i'm saying is if you go with the K04, you will see some improvement, but most definitely will get bored after a little while, there's just not a lot of power.

Do some more research
