Can anyone provide instructions on installing the interior hood release handle on 2003 Beetle? How does the cable attach to the bracket behind the interior trim panel and then bracket to handle? See attached photo for clarification.
If I remember it right, the handle is removed from the bracket, the release cable is then mounted in the handle. The handle is reinstalled on the bracket. I don't remember exactly how the handle is secured to the bracket. It should be the reverse of how it was removed.
In the photo I attached, does the bracket appear to be broken? My problem is, I didn't have the luxury of seeing the release handle installed. It fell off in my wife's hand. when I pulled the trim panel off, it looks exactly like the photo. I can't seem to find any good instructions, directions, or photos of the correct assembly. The VW diagram isn't that clear. Any other suggestions?
