05 window problems - door panel

Hey all... Just got an '05 beetle a couple weeks ago and my driver's side window sounds terrible and won't go up or down. It's automatic - sounds like "pieces" are rattling around in there. I looked on each thread... but didn't find anything on window problems and I've heard it's a main problem with bugs. So, if anyone can point me in the direction of the thread... or can give me advice - I'll take it
Also... if anyone can give me instructions on how to take the door panel off and try to at least get it rolled up until I can get it to the dealer (no warranty)... I'd love that too! My husband is pretty mechanically inclined and we would like to try to fix it ourselves if possible.

I have an 06. I shut the door one day and it blew up. Glass all over. Took it to the deal and argued with them that I didnt slam the door. They fixed it under warrantie and then about 6 months later it started to rattle real bad (not always) but most the time. It did go up and down. I took it in and they adjusted it, and put in some rubber stoppers to keep it stable. I got the impression that this is a pretty common problem. Anyway the warranty didnt cover it this time because I had it 4 years and 9 days and was at 40111 miles. I am writing the company! Anyway it was $125 for them to fix it.
