Default 2004 Newbie Convertible, Window Problem

I have a 2004 Newbie Convertible with less than 10K miles.
The window did not drop when the door handle was pulled (it used). I had to use the key fob to drop the window to create the clearance necessary to open the door. Once the door was opened, the window pops up by itself - so I could't shut the door - - I had to use the key fob to drop the window so I can shut the door. However, it got worse-- the remote key fob did not work anymore.
Bottom line: it cost me $380 to replace the lock mechanism. No warranty (after 4 years, go figure). Has this happen to anyone? Is this a common problem with Newbie Convertible? Do you think changing the lock mechanism was the only way to solve the problem? I don't see anything wrong with the old lock mechnism. Maybe it could have been fixed by updating software? Will it happen to the passenger side door?

Thanks for your input.

Default My concern came true

After spending almost $400 and not even less than two weeks, the lock does not work properly. Now, I cannot open the door from inside. I spent two days without a car. Bottom line, it was not repaired properly.
