Default Just when you thought it could'nt get worse

2001 beetle 1.8 turbo .1st problem seemed simple find a vacuum leak had a code PO171 System to lean bank one.seached to no end then was told ol just change your O2 front that will work.Well before I did that I pulled the fuel regulator, now keep in mind the car ran very good before all this just had the code up.I pulled the regulator and changed the O2 well pulled the car down off ramps and it would 'nt run worth a crap threw up 3 codes muliple misfires, cylinder 1 misfire, cylinder 2 misfire. Now what Ive ordered a new fuel regulator and hopeing this will fix things at least back to where it was at least you could drive it.Just a question why would pulling the fuel pum regulator make things go hay wire? I repulled the regulator and the top o- ring was messed up just alittle but who knows.
