ok, probs with my bug...

1) the boot doesnt open with button key and now if i open it with the button the inside of door it wont shut at all, only way to sucessfully open and close it is with key but is still reluctant to shut sometimes
2) i light that says 'check' in yellow on eft hand side of dash only appears with key in ignition, not when car is running, is that normal?
3) arm rest catch is broke so i cant store anything in there coz if i move armrest to up right postion it just falls open
4) sunglasses holder in roof only shuts when it wants to
5) when i got car passenger window wouldnt work, got motor fixed for it, now the drivers side has gone, grrrr
6) the air vent to the right of the passenger doesnt blow out at all
7) coz of the boot problem when i lock the car (only with the boot problem light on dash on - it doesnt always appear) the alarm system goes crazy

all i can think of for now
anyone got any advice how to sort these cheaply and easily or anyone with same or similar probs i have learnt sone ways to get round them lol?

Hello BugBabe and welcome to the forum. I'll give my best guess to your issues in order.

1) My best guess is that the trunk (boot) latch is sticking. Most likely will need replaced.
2) Light is normal - no worries
3) Armrest button is available seperately at little cost
4) Sunglass holder will need to be replaced
5) Window problems are Achilles Heel for VW's
6) Air vent may have frozen open/close lever - if so, will need replacement
7) Issue will be solved with issue # 1

As the only reputable parts supplier that I knew of in the UK is no longer in business, I am sorry to say I have no one to refer you to for parts purchases,
